The Civil War and Native American Museum

Due to concerns about the Corona virus, the Museum will be closed to all visits until further notice.

The Civil War and Native American Museum occupies a two story,
seven room tenant house that was once part of the John Abbott II farm.

The house was named "The Pepper House" for the drying vegetables which were hung from its rafters. Olympic great Jim Thorpe spent a season living in the house as a youthful migrant farm worker.

The museum, although small, is the first Civil War Museum in New Jersey. The exhibits include uniforms, weapons, equipment and material relating to the experience of the common soldier in the Civil War.

The Civil War and Native American Museum has a gift shop with many Civil War and some Native American books and period related items. We've added many new titles to our book selection and many new tapes, CD's, videos, novelties and interesting items. Click here to view two exclusive books we offer for sale.

If you have a Civil War or Native American artifact or relic you would like to donate, the museum would love to care for your item and display it to friends and visitors. Please call the museum to make arrangements.
